Grandvalira’s Soldeu sector will hold a Men’s Alpine Skiing European Cup next season
The legendary Avet course will host two Giant Slalom technical competitions on the 3rd and 4th of February

The Grandvalira Soldeu sector returns to competition hosting next season with the celebration of a Men's Alpine Skiing European Cup. The legendary Avet stage will host two technical Giant Slalom competitions on the 3rd and 4th of February. The calendar for next year’s continental circuit has been confirmed during the congress that the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has been hosting this week in the Slovenian town of Portoroz.

Representing the Organising Committee for the World Cups and the candidacy for the Andorra 2029 World Cups as well as the Andorran Ski Federation (FAE), David Hidalgo, Managing Director of the project, Marc Mitjana and Irene Gómez of the General Secretariat attended the event, together with FAE Vice-President and FIS Board Member Patrick Toussaint, FAE Manager Carles Visa and FAE Spokesperson and Technical Delegate Toni Crespo. Also, as a representative of the candidacy, the former skier and World Cup champion who is a resident of Andorra, Luc Alphand travelled to the congress.

With less than a month before the election (in Reykjavík, on the 4th of June) of the venue that will host the 2029 World Cups, the Andorran delegation has been holding several meetings with members of the FIS to present and resolve any remaining doubts regarding the dossier for the Principality’s candidacy.
